Annoyance: If you are pushy and annoying, chances are you are turning off prospects. Who wants to do business with someone who makes them anxious or angry? Consider your co-workers, too. Teamwork boosts sales, yet your teammates may be keeping you out of the loop if you constantly annoy them. Few people want to do favors for or business with anyone they find annoying. Observe how you act, and be careful not to annoy. Get a person you trust to give you feedback. Be open to change. It might just help your sales.

If you feel like you got to where you are in your career by chance and you’re doubting if you can go any further you’re not alone. What if you love your sales job and you're good at it, but you don't get as much attention as the more outgoing people in your organisation? We don’t always achieve what we strive for; sometimes, we attain something even greater! 🚀 It’s the year 1999, graduated from university Filled with hope & determination to pursue a career in diplomacy… Despite studying political science, learning new languages Reading relevant books and studying courses... 🤓 It seemed to require time So I started looking for my first job meanwhile… And was adamant it can’t be in sales! Convinced I lacked the necessary skills However, fate had other plans! I landed my first job… Sales in tech!  Lasted for a year…  The next one was in… Sales in IT!  Lasted a couple of years this time!  Then in 2002, I got a different job this time… Sales in Telecom 😆 That’s when I took the hint… It took me a while to realize that being in sales was my calling That had spanned 25 years of negotiating and thriving in commercial roles… I simply enjoyed and loved every moment of it! specially the stressful ones Sometimes life offers us a different plan than the one we envisioned But that doesn’t mean our efforts are wasted! 3.5 years since my 9 year job, it's been a journey. Three roles, all different then that longest experience. Growth, yes. But, there's a simpler common thread. Helping people sincerly, across the path, is pivotal. People helped me learn People took chances on me People helped me along the path In turn I was able to help others and show a little value along the way. And the cycle repeated itself. All those roles didn't work out. But, helping sincerely goes along way. Help someone this today. A client, a team member, Someone across the path For better results. I had totally the wrong criteria when I chose my first sales roles. I thought: 💲Package 📈 Size ≡ better onboarding ⚠️ Taking less risk Were the keys to me learning and progressing in sales. Truth is, I was underconfident and didn't back myself to make a challenging role, work. I sought the safety net. Now, the criteria I value are: 🤵♀️ Leaders that are fundamentally good people. It will reflect in your work, relationships and progression. 💰Companies that are properly run, and managed financially. 🌱 Opportunities that will challenge you to be better: holes in that safety net. Great people, great business, great opportunities = money, prestige, status - whatever it is you look for in life and work.
