Thinker & Doer, firm believer that AI can accelerate equity and inclusion in society

Pride, in the name of Infosys ‘Culture eats strategy for breakfast’ is a well-known mantra in management circles, underscoring the profound impact of company culture and leadership during challenging times. At Infosys we embrace this principle, ensuring that we do everything possible to empower Infoscions to thrive under adversity. This commitment to support our team through tough times is integral to our larger mission of amplifying human potential and creating the next opportunity for people, businesses and communities. I had a firsthand experience of this commitment a few years ago when we embarked on a comprehensive IT transformation project for a leading European firm. Even before we commenced the project, the client took a very profound business decision, rendering our initial implementation plans and solution obsolete. The clock ticking, we were forced back to the drawing board. As doubts began growing over our ability to execute the transformation, the leadership in a critical call with the client’s sponsor, reaffirmed our commitment and pledged full support to ensure the project’s success. The calm confidence and support from leadership permeated through our team, igniting a renewed sense of determination. Over the next several weeks, our fired-up group worked tirelessly, determined to exceed the client’s expectations and establish ourselves as a trusted partner. To bolster the team’s efforts, Infosys allocated additional resources, despite the impact on budgets and margins. After all, we remained steadfast in our belief of prioritizing client satisfaction over all else. Within months, our dedication paid off, as we not only met but exceeded the client’s expectation, earning their complete trust and approval. From our leadership’s decisive actions to our entire team’s dedication, it became clear to me that a supportive and empowering culture is integral to our ability to overcome challenges and deliver. Happy 75th CA day Anup. Now the infy story, which puts clients interests at prime The year was 2020, Mid Jan, india was unaware of the creeping COVID 19 pandemic, and I was to host the client at Manila. I got the tickets etc at lightening speed and on the way to airport I received an unknown call, from Manila, our good friend Ram Valoor said don’t come, there was an volcanic eruption. I said ok and enquired with travel desk. They had no idea. Just a day ago few people had already travelled to Manila. I called one such person who has landed and he said he is not aware.I asked my company cab driver if we can go back, to which he said he has a pickup at the airport and cannot return now. So I went to the airport, cancelled the tickets, told my boss Santosh P. and returned back home. Twist, Nirmal Varghese our sales guy asked me to come over to Manila as clients had reached Japan and were flying the next day. Putting personal well-being at risk, I managed to get next tickets to Manila via kualalampur. Reached there to Witness multiple delays in connecting flights and stayed at the airport for over 26 hours, and finally reached before the meeting. First time wore the N95 Mask in the ash laden air. An event to remember :)

Thank you, Anup, for sharing your inspiring story. Our commitment to fostering a culture of resilience and client-centricity truly sets us apart! #TheInfyWay
