Product Development Manager at Total Fitness adopting a member-centric approach to creating the leading member experience in the industry.
After 320km of cycling this weekend, my training for #TourDeTotalFitness is complete. Time to taper down now before I set off from Teesside in 10 days. So LinkedIn, what do I need from you? Recommendations for your favourite motivational training songs - I’ll make a playlist with all suggestions (although I may remove connections if the songs turn out to be joke choices) Or are there any super motivating audible books you would recommend? I’ve got about 36 hours of cycling to fill - let’s go! #cycling #charity #totalfitness

For a long time, I believed that physical activity was "not for me." If you've watched my TEDxBethesda talk, I loathed my physical education class because, after I became disabled, no one picked me to be on their team. The way I was treated made me believe that sports were "not for me." After relaunching Diversability® in 2015, I started learning more about adaptive sports. And in 2016, I tried my first adaptive sport--rock climbing--almost 20 years after I became disabled (hey Adaptive Climbing Group). In one month, I will be participating in my first triathlon! I have been talking about wanting to do a triathlon for years, and for those of you who know me, I'm all about turning talk into action. I've been slowly relearning how to bike and swim in my own way... and I'm not sure how it will go, but I'm going to try. I'm honored to be on the Angel City Sports team. If you'd like to support my journey and other adaptive athletes, you can make a donation here: https://lnkd.in/gvEWfQeJ Is there something you've always wanted to do but haven't yet? What action can you take to try? #AdaptiveSports #Triathlete #Triathlon #DisabilityInclusion Image description: a photo of Tiffany in a seated trike with hand pedals. Note this is not my triathlon bike (I wish!) but this is from the BORP Adaptive Sports SF Adaptive Biking Program. I will be getting a bike for the triathlon soon 😊

“Do something even if it means that you might fail.” That is a motto that I am going with in my next project. And what is my next project? Xterra triathlon taking place on 31st August. Never cycled and swam competitively, but I am going for it. It is a great opportunity to learn about triathlon, understand triathletes more and conquer another goal that I set. But this time it is more than a race. I have decided to partner with the foundation Konto Bariéry and its project “Sport without barriers” and implement a fundraising campaign supporting people with disabilities through the power of sport. Sport for them provides a great form of rehabilitation and a chance to make new friends. My goal is to collect 15 000 Kč (590€ or £497), which does not seem to be that much, but it can make a big difference in their lives. Click the link below to learn more. If you like this idea, share it with others, so as many people as possible know about this project, can get inspired and can make a positive impact. PS - for those who do not have a Czech account, you can send the money on my Revolut account in your currency. I will then exchange it and support the campaign under your name. Call out to all Cycling Club members! As we see clubs disappear and less people riding we need to ask ourselves what is going on with our sport. Cycling Clubs need to address the demographic they are appealing to and who they are attracting into the sport. Without a doubt we need to encourage the youth element into the sport. No it’s not easy and it takes dedicated members of the Club to take a lead on this and give up something that is precious to us all - time! All clubs and namely members need to start stepping up and volunteering to take a lead in bringing on a youth section in all clubs or else we will see continued decline in our sport. No it’s not an easy task following the guidelines set down by British Cycling but those guidelines are there for good reason. So you can’t let the committee in your club, who are probably already overstretched in keeping the club going take on yet another task, it has to be you or others in the club giving up time to help achieve this aim. We need more young people taking up the sport to keep it alive. #britishcycling #cycling #volunteer #youthdevelopment #engagement #inclusivity #leadership
