Call for Action | Petition for Dual Nationality Pathway in Taiwan ANZCham Taiwan is a proud supporter of Crossroads' Dual Nationality Campaign calling for a standardised pathway for Permanent Residents in Taiwan to naturalise as citizens without renouncing their original citizenship. In just five days, the petition has surpassed 1,000 signatures! But the journey continues—to ensure a government response, we need at least 4,000 more signatures by October 19, 2024. Let’s keep the momentum going and show policymakers how much the public supports this reform. Please sign and share! 🔗 Petition: https://lnkd.in/gYQQuhpf 🔗 Instructions on signing the petition: https://lnkd.in/gMy8WEyC For campaign detail, and other ways to support and engage, please contact David Chang.

I am happy to share my latest article published in the Statelessness and Citizenship Review which focuses the Hungarian citizenship act and its safeguards against statelessness. In this study I examine whether statelessness is adequately addressed in the legislation governing the acquisition of Hungarian citizenship and whether the legislation in force is able to provide appropriate safeguards in order to prevent statelessness, especially childhood statelessness. https://lnkd.in/ddTTu_ic

It's not often that you can read editorials by undocumented people themselves on the media. In Belgium, the Coordination of Undocumented People penned a letter to political leaders on the biggest French-speaking newspaper. In it, they call on political forces who won the June federal elections to: ⭐ adopt an asylum and migration policy based on reception and solidarity, guaranteeing respect for the dignity and fundamental rights of exiled persons ⭐ reject the stigmatisation of undocumented people and the equation of immigration with crime ⭐ pass a fair regularisation measure that would allow people to participate fully in society and access their rights, based on clear and objective criteria that consider individual situations of vulnerability and social links in Belgium. The letter is a powerful sign of the mobilisation of undocumented people and allies in Belgium. Congratulations to the Coordination of Undocumented People and to Le Soir for giving a platform to one of the most marginalised groups in Europe. #DearEuropeanParliament, The current reception system is failing both asylum seekers and Member States at the same time. It is failing #AsylumSeekers because, in many #EU countries, asylum seekers are sleeping on the streets or surviving in inhumane conditions of overcrowded #reception centres. At the same time, it fails Member States, because it places a disproportionate amount of responsibility for handling #asylum applications to the countries at the borders of the #EU. I believe in a #Europe that welcomes and I want you, European Parliament, to push for more hospitality and solidarity in Europe. That's why I'm going to vote in the #EuropeanElections2024 Learn how you can #UseYourVote at https://together.eu/
Dear European Parliament I want hospitality and Solidarity

News publications from different sides of the political spectrum choose to highlight different aspects of what's happening in their headlines. Here is our summary of the recent events in Germany: 📢Immigration is the subject of heated public debate as Germans take to the streets to protest against the far-right AfD party, which has discussed mass deportations of immigrants in a private session. 📜The parliament also passed two new laws on migration. The first will make it easier to expel asylum seekers with questionable cases. The second law will make it easier for legitimate immigrants to obtain German citizenship. https://ow.ly/flf150QtLQL
