The comment I made was "... I added an anonymous MSForms survey link on my signature block where individuals (inside and outside the organization) can leave me feedback about their interaction with me. I'll also be adding it to meeting invites." I would love to know if you chose to implement this idea for yourself and how that's going. One area I've been pondering about is the aftercare support that may be needed if the feedback received is not so positive for individuals. It's definitely normal to sometimes internalize feedback. Exactly five years ago, I made one of the most significant decisions of my life: leaving my comfort zone in Brazil and embarking on an exciting journey to Canada. Looking back today, I feel immense gratitude for the opportunities that courageous choice provided me. I remember the mixed emotions I felt leaving my family and career behind, facing the unknown as an immigrant in faraway lands. It was a real dive into the unknown, where each step required courage and determination. The first few months were challenging, adapting to a new language, culture and climate. However, with each obstacle overcome, I felt that I was growing as an individual and professional. This experience taught me to embrace change and face challenges with resilience. Over these five years, I had the privilege of meeting inspiring people from different backgrounds and trajectories who were also looking for new horizons. These connections have enriched my life and expanded my worldview. Furthermore, conquering new professional opportunities and fulfilling dreams that seemed distant fills me with pride and satisfaction. Each step forward was a victory over the fear of the unknown, proving that it is worth taking risks to achieve our goals. I cannot deny that facing all the challenges of being an immigrant was a true test of resilience, but that experience shaped who I am today. I feel grateful for every lesson learned and for every person who crossed my path on this path. I want to thank everyone who has been by my side during these five years, supporting me in every moment of difficulty and sharing the joy of my achievements. Without my family and friends, none of this would have been possible. In this special time, I invite you to reflect on your journeys and the courage it takes to pursue your dreams. This time last year, we had just returned from our year abroad living and working in Europe. Today, as we celebrate Canada Day, I find myself in a reflective mood, thinking about how much has changed and what's to come. Last year, Canada Day was about celebrating coming home and reuniting with our creature comforts: friends, family, sushi (!), the forest, grocery stores we knew the layout of on the back of our hands. This year, it's an inflection point—a moment to reflect on where I've been and where I want to go. The past 12 months since we landed back in Canada have given me a new perspective on the value of our "Adventure Year." It was a time of immense learning and growth, teaching me the delicate balance between adventure and routine. I've realized that too much of one thing can lead to a craving for the other. Too much adventure? We crave comfort and routine. Too much comfort and routine? We crave adventure and novelty. In this duality, there is no destination. Only a dance. As we enter the back half of the year, I'm reflecting on what I've created in my business and life so far, and what I aspire to build in the next 6-12 months. Sometimes, time and distance provide the clarity we lack when we're too close to something. And it's this ongoing dance of dualities that I hope to embrace more fully this year. → Change and Acceptance → Adventure and Routine → Work and Rest → Strength and Vulnerability → Independence and Connection Canada Day can mean many things to many people. Today, for me, it signifies reflection and celebration. If it does to you too, in 1 or 2 words, what do you hope to embrace more fully this year? P.S. In case you were wondering, yes, I LOVE Caesars and will definitely be enjoying one today. I’m also craving poutine, so that's on the agenda too. 😉

🗽This month, I celebrate my 10th anniversary in the US. I am now an American citizen, but a forever immigrant. Immigration is not an one-stop shop - most of the time, it's a painful journey. It's a process designed for you to give up, basically. I made it to citizenship, but not without scars. And 10 years later... 🤹♀️I still have a strong accent that gets stronger if I am mad. 🤹♀️I still mix up prepositions and learn a word or 2 every other day. 🤹♀️Passing through immigration at airports still gives me the chills. 🤹♀️I'm still mad that I gained my right to be here through marriage. 🤹♀️When applying for jobs, I still need to think if I am authorized to work here. 🤹♀️ I'm still surprised by (and thankful for) first-world privileges. Like air conditioning or well-maintained roads. 🤹♀️ I still question the imperial system vs metric. It doesn't make sense! 💪All that said, I am proud of being an immigrant. We are resilient people and it's part of who I am! I built a new career and life from scratch, in a different country, language and culture.
