248 years ago the United States reinstated a core principle and a central pillar of our western civilization. The Declaration that “All Men Are Created Equal” – made July 4th, 1776 one of most celebrated days in our recent history. This is when the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence announcing the colonies’ separation from Great Britain. By marking their victory, the United States hailed the highest human virtues of respect, equality and inclusion, while waving the flag of liberties and chanting the songs of freedom. They showed to the humanity the importance of what is divine in the life of humans – a country called home, built on solid principles, on open minds and generous debate of ideas. The American Dream was watered with hard work and a spirit of vivid competition. Barely anyone has better featured that than President Ronald Reagan who said “We are a nation of freedom, living under God, believing all citizens must have the opportunity to grow, create wealth, and build a better life for those who follow. If we live up to those moral values, we can keep the American dream alive for our children and our grandchildren, and America will remain mankind’s best hope.” The obsession for Freedom, the principles of Dignity and Respect, the core value of Hard Work and the invincible desire to win any obstacle that blurs these pillars – has made United States a model to follow and a friend to all. Does our allegiance reside with power and patriotism, or does it rest with the people? For what it's worth, my thoughts as a retired military officer follow: Why draw imaginary lines where none are needed? Our allegiance, in my mind, should be with the living, doing our very best to serve and care for life ... every life. Only in this way, through love and compassion, shall we, as one family, share in the days of peace that await us. Flags, patriotism, and all the stuff we associate with misplaced and misguided power plays do little more than build walls that divide us when humanity should, instead, be very busy building bridges. A child, therefore, should be afforded equal opportunity to align their 'allegiance' as they see fit, not as others dictate. To take the opportunity away is no worse (or better) than mandating recitation of allegiance. The world is made of many peoples, none better or worse than ourselves. Let us, therefore, pledge ourselves to making their lives more gentle. Instead of beating each other up and killing one another's children in the name of politic, power, and patriotism, let us, instead tackle problems that affect us all. In so doing, we make life gentler for all. Whatever we do, let us do it determined to bring justice, freedom, unity, decency, acceptance, love, understanding, and respect to everyone.

Justice Prevails: The Demise of Warmongers Hey everyone, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the power of justice and the ultimate defeat of aggressors. In this world, those who thrive on war and destruction will find no resting place for their souls. History has shown time and again that all invaders and conquerors are destined to lose. We live in a time where the pursuit of peace and fairness has become more crucial than ever. It is our collective responsibility to stand up against those who seek to bring harm and suffering to innocent lives. Together, we can ensure that justice prevails. Let us remember that the arc of history bends towards righteousness. Though the road may be long and filled with obstacles, we must remain steadfast in our pursuit of a better world. With every act of compassion, every voice raised against injustice, we contribute to the triumph of what is right. So, let us unite in our commitment to peace and justice. Let us resist the allure of war and aggression, knowing that in the end, it is the forces of justice that will emerge victorious.
