Nutrition is a vital tool that is underutilized in the treatment of chronic pain. Unfortunately, much of the research on nutrition and health is industry-driven and unreliable, leading to conflicting and often confusing recommendations for healthcare professionals and the public. This session leverages the expertise of 4 interdisciplinary clinicians to present the latest evidenced-based literature to improve patient outcomes and provide a more accurate and trustworthy picture of the complex relationship between nutrition and pain. Presenters will highlight specific research demonstrating the effect of nutrition on chronic pain conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, sickle cell disease and vitamin deficiencies. #PAINWeek #PAINWeek2023 #PAINWeekconference #healthcareprofessionals #PAINWeeklasvegas #thecosmopolitanoflasvegas #pain #painmanagement #painmedications #PAINWeekattendees #PAINWeekcme #cme #ce #PAINWeek2023conference #painconference #painsponsors #paineducation #paintopics #paincourses #coursehighlight

📣Thank you to all who stayed for the last session of #ASEPN24 and to those who joined virtually! We had an amazing group of speakers. Thanks to Sarah Peterson for putting this talk together! Here are some key takeaways from “Resolving Enteral Nutrition Challenges in Critically Ill Patients”: 🔑When considering Enteral Nutrition for patients on vasopressors, utilizing Vasopressor Dose Equvalents (VDE) of >12 as an indicator for utilizing trophic feeds or holding feeds altogether may help prevent intolerances. https://lnkd.in/e-eYN3fi 🔑Proned positioning is NOT a contraindication for enteral nutrition. https://lnkd.in/eixNPtVW 🔑ECMO patients often come to you with days to weeks of inadequate nutrition that must be considered. Supplemental PN likely should play a bigger role than it does currently. https://lnkd.in/eddkFc5D
