I love this attachment - a brilliant fun way to have outdoor fun time, while building driver dexterity and spacial awareness at an age when those skills don't automatically present themselves. Thank you to Jan-Blaise's family for tagging us in this post on Facebook! "Everyone should be able to make art! 🥹😍🎨 We were introduced to Zot Artz at Jan-Blaise’s school, Harris-Hillman, last year and loved how he was able to make art with his wheelchair. Thanks to Katie Beckett, we were able to use some of his annual funds to purchase a few adaptive toys he can use with his wheelchair. Can’t wait to see how much he enjoys his other toy!"

Ten years ago today, we at TRG Arts lost our beloved former CEO, Rick Lester, during a charity bike ride in the mountains of Colorado. It's been TEN years. Looking back, the transformations in our professional and personal lives have been nothing short of profound. While the world around us evolves, I'm struck by the timelessness of the perspective that Rick had, particularly the importance of investing in retention and truly understanding our customers through data-driven insights. Indeed, while so much has changed in 10 years, much is the same. As we navigate today, its so very clear that we must listen to data, but also #leadwithourears to develop authentic, lasting relationships with our communities. #artsandculture must also wake up to new realities. I write about this in a reflection and rant ("rant" credit to Seth Godin) below. I wonder what Rick would think about the challenges we face today. I believe he'd think... so much has NOT changed. #RickLesterLegacy #datadriveninsights #customerretention #rfmg https://lnkd.in/gf_DTH6q

There are more effective ways for historic preservation advocacy organizations to fund raise. Poor results are often caused by not being able to make an emotional connection with a potential donor. In the past, these organizations could make an appeal based on how people felt about losing a beautiful building. Today, younger generations are more likely to be compelled to act out of an emotional connection with a group of people whose lives will be negatively impacted by the loss of a building or place. The key to making fund raising more effective, in this context, is to seek outside expertise who can credibly understand a potential constituent base. Group think—believing all people value old buildings in the same way—is pervasive in this sector. Social science research shows that professional historic preservationists perceive old places differently than the general public. Continuing to fund raise in the same way without recognizing and acting on these factors will be an increasingly futile efort. But, there is a more effective way forward for those open to change.
