Glass is the most sustainable packaging choice...or is it???🤔 • Glass can be a great option for certain brands and products, but we need to STOP glorifying it as the ultimate "sustainable solution"🤦♀️... • In fact, glass has some major sustainability drawbacks: 1️⃣ it generates more carbon emissions during manufacturing 🏭 (compared to most plastics) 2️⃣ it generates more carbon emissions during transportation 🚚 🚢 🛩 (compared to most plastics) 3️⃣ it has a high breakage rate, meaning many brands have to invest in more secondary and tertiary packaging to protect it during transportation😬...creating more waste • To be clear, I'm not "anti-glass" at all, but I do think we need to acknowledge it's drawbacks if we as an industry and as beauty consumers are going to make informed decisions • #sustainablepackaging #cosmeticpackaging #beautypackaging #skincarepackaging #skincareindustry
