This week China launched the Chang’e-6 mission on the reliable Long March-5 rocket, sending a probe to the dark side of the moon to collect 2kg of soil and rock. A historic mission. Last week China sent the Shenzhou-18 crew to the Tiangong Space Station swapping places with the crew of Shenzhou-17, who landed safely back on earth the next day. The US-led West blocked China out of the International Space Station years ago, prompting China to build its own. Given the nature of China’s governance it was probably the right policy, but sad, nonetheless. Not to mention the irony of Russia being part of the ISS. Now nations are blaming each other about militarizing space even as they themselves work feverishly to militarize space. No change from the tensions of Sputnik in 1957, even if understandable. The American actor William Shatner at age 90 is the oldest person to have gone to space. He expected the trip to be something of a celebration but in the end described it more like a funeral. He experienced something called the “overview effect.” A moment or pause of the deepest reflection on the meaning of life, the precious nature of earth, and the sadness of how humanity has managed it all. He realized that after his 90 years on earth, his success, and his affluent and comfortable life that “everything I had thought was wrong.” We could all benefit from some “overview effect.” --- China Peace Initiative (CPI) was created to explain and educate, toward understanding, hoping for peace. Two suns, a crescent and a star. I continue my former Great Reset series with this new article. The title leans to the symbol, PM Orbán used in his recent speech to characterise the - hopefully peaceful - coexistence of the US and China as the two leading World powers in the upcoming decades. I examine the military strength (military interventions without political and economical off-ramp as suggested by the Powell-doctrine). Second is the US dollar, challenged by the gold-backed common BRICS-currency, the debt ceiling. Let's see, if the digital backed dollar can perform better? And all east I take a look to the popular culture of the West, throttled by the Woke neomarxism. Hungary favours the connectivity between the West and China, not the decoupling or de-risking.
