The LogiCO2 MK9 Horn/Strobe comes standard with 4 different alarm notification levels that are based on CO2 concentration levels. CO2 makes up .04% of the ambient air we breathe, or around 400 ppm (parts per million). The Horn/Strobe will alarm according to corresponding CO2 concentration received by the sensor, and signage adjacent to the Horn/Strobe explains the alarm: LogiCO2’s level 1 alarm is an “awareness alert”, which alarms at .5%, or 5000 ppm. There is no immediate danger, but notification is provided for elevated CO2 levels. LogiCO2’s level 2 alarm is an alert that exceeds OSHA’s “permissible exposure limit” (PEL), which is a measure of CO2 concentration over 5,000 ppm over an 8-hour time weighted average. LogiCO2’s level 3 alarm is an alert triggered at 1.5% CO2 levels, or 15,000 ppm, meaning CO2 concentration levels are very elevated and needs addressed immediately. LogiCO2’s level 4 alarm is a “high alarm” alert compliant with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 72 and triggers at 3.0% CO2 concentration levels, or 30,000 ppm. The location should be evacuated, and first responders called to acknowledge it’s safe to re-enter. The LogiCO2 unit also comes standard with a self-diagnostic alert, indicating there is a system fault and service is needed. Want to learn more? Whether for purposes of compliance with annual safety code requirements or to gauge the general condition and performance of a system, PolSys Services provides thorough, on-site annual inspections of all types of air pollution control equipment. Our thermal imaging cameras translate thermal energy into visible light in order to analyze air pollution control equipment. These cameras help determine the condition of key components like insulation or refractory in an oxidizer, or the machine health of fans, pumps, and motors. Hot spots show areas of weakness or damage so these issues can be addressed, reducing auxiliary fuel costs, avoiding more costly repairs in the future, and preventing downtime. NFPA standards can change periodically, so we are frequently asked to perform NFPA upgrades in order to ensure a burner meets current standards. If you’re concerned about NFPA compliance, our service technicians can perform burner safety checks, full burner system analyses, and/or upgrades. 🔥 Just identified a critical hotspot using infrared thermography! This is why regular inspections are so important. According to NFPA 70B, it’s a requirement that all electrical equipment undergo such inspections to prevent failures and ensure safety. And guess what? These inspections shall be done annually to catch issues like this before they escalate! Stay safe and compliant, folks! #Maintenance #Reliability #Infrared #Thermography #NFPA70B Remember, early detection of hotspots can prevent costly downtime, equipment damage, and potential safety hazards. Keep those thermography cameras handy! 🌡️👀
