It’s no good just talking about it, we need to make space for sustainable innovation. The Innovation Centre we are currently building in Liverpool, UK, will be a dedicated development space for game-changing sustainable technologies like UV/EB. How do companies adopt open innovation to enable circular economy? Armando Calabrese, Roberta Costa, Nathan Levialdi Ghiron, Luigi Tiburzi, and I addressed this question using a qualitative meta-analysis of 42 case studies. Main takeaways: - Companies show a preference for collaborative and network-based open innovation strategies, which involve high depth and breadth of knowledge search. - There is an inclination towards open innovation strategies rooted in the depth of knowledge search rather than breadth in developing circular business models. This study, which is also the first paper from my PhD, is now available on "Business Strategy and the Environment".
