CMO's are facing an existential crisis. In these uncertain times, companies are eliminating the position, instead positioning ultimate responsibility for the marketing function under COOs. But the truth is, CMOs are vital C-suite partners in enabling decisions and the operational execution of an experience that earns customer-driven growth. Marketing leaders must expand their skill sets and those of their teams to ensure their place as leaders of their company's customer experience transformation. Check out this great cartoon by Tom Fishburne at Marketoonist. #CMO #marketing #leadership #customerexperience #transformation

B2B Marketing Director | Marketing Strategy, Demand Generation, GTM, Stakeholder Engagement, APAC market expertise
As always painful truths with Tom Fishburne. According to MarketingWeek, more than a third of companies don’t have a marketer at all on the leadership team. For smaller businesses with fewer than 250 employees, that figure climbs to nearly half. And even for organizations with a marketing seat at the leadership table, the marketing function is often poorly understood and respected. McKinsey & Company reported last fall that companies that place marketing at the centre of their growth strategy are twice as likely to have greater than 5% annual growth. Yet they also found the impact of marketing was often hampered by the murkiness of the role, how the role was perceived by the rest of the organization, and how the role is measured. Do you have a marketing leader on your leadership team? Does the rest of the organisation understand the role of marketing? #marketingstrategy #marketingleadership
