This is a significant find. French and Eurorail already have hydrogen fuel cell engines courtesy of Cummins and Ballard Power in operation. Hydrogen fuel cells are a logical next generation technology compatible with electric engines capable of driving industrial transport much needed in Europe and the world. Ideally, if there is a way to sink captured carbon into the same hydrogen reservoir natural displacement could pump hydrogen out while sinking carbon at the same time achieving a dramatic push on the carbon cycle to reduce atmospheric carbon.

Hydrogen is ramping up!   In 2023, 10.4 billion USD was invested in #hydrogen. This is three times more than what was invested previously, in 2022. These findings of the recent BloombergNEF report clearly show that the hydrogen economy is ramping up rapidly. To truly unlock the huge potential of hydrogen for the energy transition, we should not only focus on increasing production capacities, but also on the even bigger question: How to safely and efficiently store and transport hydrogen? OMG Steven Schenk, seriously? "Green hydrogen is considered the "Swiss army knife of decarbonisation." The whole reason Paul Martin came up with the analogy (and I helped popularize it) is that NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND USES A SWISS ARMY KNIFE FOR ALL THE THINGS IT COULD IN THEORY DO! Why?
