Today (15 December 2023), the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore today released its proposed amendments to the Cybersecurity Act 2018 for public comment. Apart from updates to the scope of the legislation with respect to critical information infrastructure (CII), the proposed amendments are significant in that they seek to expand the scope of the Cybersecurity Act 2018 beyond CII to foundational digital infrastructure and entities of special cybersecurity interest. These changes will add further regulatory scrutiny on the cybersecurity ecosystem. Our analysis and views on these proposed amendments to follow!

From today to 15 January 2024, CSA invites members of the public and stakeholders to participate in the public consultation on the proposed amendments to the Cybersecurity Act.   As Singapore continues to digitalise, cybersecurity has become more critical than ever.
