Building communities is at the core of Article Student Living's mission. Last week, Article employees made this mission a reality by serving the local Chicago community during our annual Volunteer Day! Teams partnered with Habitat for Humanity Chicago to build housing for families on Chicago's South Side and Metropolitan Family Services, which provides essential services to more than 117,000 underserved families in the Chicagoland area. The Habitat team had the pleasure of working side by side with Belinda, a local Habitat for Humanity homeowner, to put siding up on three Habitat homes in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Family Services team organized donations and set up classrooms that have been unusable since the start of COVID-19 at the North Community Center for Children, which provides pre-K programming for children on Chicago's Northwest Side.
