Funny thing about all of this is that fact that an old Panama that tests in the 14% range has the capability to make you reevaluate what you thought you knew for several hours after you ask the guy smoking with you if he 'laced it'.. In the old days when we didn’t have test results, we looked for finest and quality of final looking product with a matrice of smell… worked for thousands of years!
Dead on I do not believe that it is an average to get north of 30%. The reality is that might happen once or twice in a Growers lifetime. So long as we have paid for profit testing, we will have ridiculous results at the end of the day extraction logs do not lie. You do not see extraction logs with yields of north of 30% or I should say north of 28% which means you most likely are not having north of 30% cannabis. If you had regular 34% cannabis, you would see regular yields of 32% by weight. And you don’t….
Thankfully we haven't gone too far down this road and the older lines that were selected for how they make you feel are still around. That being said true unadulterated landraces will also disappear as growers around the world look for more profit and think modern kush is the ticket.
Thc % is a garbage metric. Never once did I inquire about thc in all my bags o weed. I’d much rather a chem or sour hovering around 20% then the most trendy candy strains in the 30’s

I wish we never adopted % as a metric. It sure isn't reliable. I remember trying to introduce the first Terpene Based menu in mass in 2021 and the GM hated it. "We need the 30%+". No bro, we don't. Me, I'll take a terpy 12-18%er over a 30% all day
