AGVs take on repetitive and mundane tasks, freeing up time for workers to focus on more important tasks that require their skills. I recall speaking with a warehouse worker some time ago who used to spend a significant amount of time manually locating and picking pallets. However, with the introduction of AGVs, this worker's role has evolved to focus more on supervising and controlling the system. The worker now has more time to ensure smooth warehouse operations and feels a sense of fulfillment in their role. ☝️ What's interesting is that automation has opened up new opportunities for skilled professionals who oversee and manage the software to ensure smooth warehouse operations. A great example of this is the fully automated warehouse built by Linde Material Handling for Fosfa in the Czech Republic, which has 4,500 pallet spaces and seamless automation. Workers are responsible for monitoring operations and software management, demonstrating the importance of human oversight in automated systems.🚀 In my opinion, automation isn't a threat to jobs; it enhances job quality and creates new opportunities for skilled professionals.
