I’m not usually gleefully posting about the FTC, but this is actually an exciting one today. I can think of at least a dozen candidates off the top of my head that I have not been able to place due to noncompete clauses in their original original contracts. I would say at least half of the people that I talk to that do have a noncompete don’t even even realize they signed one originally. 😑 We’ll see what the specifics are shortly… With that said, hit me up if you want to talk recruiting, hiring etc. Happy to chat. https://lnkd.in/gVvcfJuA #noncompete #recruiting

The FTC's ruling could significantly enhance job mobility, which might boost innovation and broaden career opportunities across different sectors. As employees gain the freedom to switch jobs without the constraints of noncompete clauses, they can bring new ideas and expertise to their new roles, fostering creativity and progress. This change could also encourage businesses to focus more on retaining talent by improving workplace conditions and offering better benefits, rather than relying on restrictive agreements. Ultimately, this could lead to a more competitive and dynamic labor market.

I also work with clients stuck in the grip of non-compete agreements, so the FTC's ban is a huge relief. These agreements have been holding people back, limiting their choices and growth. It's a game-changer that could shake up the job market in the best way possible.

Love this! I never thought they would hold up in court anyway, but it was such a ridiculous concept that got way overused and abused to scare people.

I consider myself reasonably happy about it too. There are other ways to deal with thins such as Intellectual Property leaks/loss etc.
