Do you think banning betting companies from sponsoring football teams is the right call? ⚽ ⚽ ⚽ West Ham United FC are set to part company with Betway Group following the recent UK Government review on gambling laws. The new law is expected to effect another 8 Premier League sides and 17 of the 24 sides in the Championship. While I completely understand that allowing betting companies to sponsor teams normalizes and actually promotes gambling, I do find it strange to stop what is an integral part of the game being front and center during football matches. What's next? No more Ray Winstone at half time?! #sportsbetting #football #igaming

Most gambling logos are seen in a single match: 3,522! The new study identified it for an EPL match between Chelsea and West Ham. This result makes a staggering 37 logos appear for every minute of the game. Earlier this year, English Premier League (EPL) clubs supported a ban on front-of-shirt sponsorships with gambling companies. The ban was a voluntary measure amid the review of the Gambling Act, aiming to avoid restrictive legislation by lawmakers. It will be in effect from the 2026 soccer season, allowing clubs to gradually phase out gambling sponsorships over the next few years. However, the ban only applies to front-of-shirt promotion and doesn't include other forms of display like sleeve or pitch-side hoardings, drawing criticism from anti-gambling groups. #fsm #digitalmarketing #advertising #sports #sportsmarketing #sportsbetting #sportsbook Credits: Gambling Insider

Betting and Gaming Council members directly contributed £455m to British horseracing last year in levy, media rights and sponsorship deals, new BGC figures reveal. Michael Dugher, CEO of the BGC, said: "BGC members in the regulated betting industry are now paying more towards British horseracing than ever before, despite a 10.3 per cent reduction in betting turnover on racing in the last five years. "These huge sums also come at a time when the regulated betting sector is under enormous pressure, not least in the form of recent measures unveiled in the Government’s White Paper." https://lnkd.in/eZzUqgQR #iGF #iGamingFuture #BGC #BettingandGamingCouncil #Horseracing #Britishhorseracing
