Our friends at FearFree are encouraging you lovely folk to take part in a 16 day challenge - do one small thing to help make a difference each day for 16 days. By doing so, you’ll be joining thousands of people campaigning across the world against abuse during the 16 Days of Action, an international campaign against gender-based violence. Here's what you can do: 1. Pick a challenge based on the number 16. It could be fundraising, volunteering or spreading awareness of their work. 2.   If fundraising, set up your fundraising page on Enthuse. 3.   Tell friends and family about your challenge and get them involved. 4.   Help make a difference. FearFree are an amazing charity based in the South West. They help and support people to recover after domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking. How far does the power of social media stretch? Is it purely a gimmick, or viral "good story" cause? 🤔 We regularly see feel good posts of kids trying to reach as far around the world as they can, or our older generation reaching milestones and celebrating. Can it work to spread awareness of crucial services, save lives, or provide a support network for those who need it? In a few days time we have our first charity ball to celebrate our launch. Good point raised - how far does the power of social media (professional or otherwise) reach? This isn't a fluffy "feel good" post encouraging likes for the sake of a viral challenge or trend, this is trying to raise awareness of a charity supporting some of our most vulnerable people/households. I've got a fairly modest network in excess of 600 connections. LinkedIn tells me my posts are viewed by 3-5 times this number. How many people, I wonder, will pick this up and show solidarity in support of a vital charity? This isn't something that we can solve overnight, but together we can put a stop to domestic abuse and provide core support to survivors to rebuild lives. #stopabuse #shareandsupport #charityawareness #viralchallenge
