Last week’s 𝐀𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in Las Vegas was electrifying and magical. Even though I came home last Friday, I am still experiencing Ascend withdrawal symptoms. I want more of this in my life! 😍 I had the honor of sharing my “Ascend story,” what #community and #allyship mean to me, and hosting our 2nd Annual Ascend's Got Talent! As a leader who’s been in the "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭, 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲, 𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐰" club for most of my life and career, I never want people to feel isolated or alone. As Lata Reddy said, "If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together!" So I was thrilled that our 2024 convention was 2000+ 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠, filled with global leaders, impact makers, trailblazers, allies, advocates, activists, and, most importantly, people who truly care about one another. We lead together because we know this is how we create more impact and change in our workplaces and communities. 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚: 150+ of our finest leaders across 20 Ascend Leadership chapters across the US and Canada came together to discuss how we can be even more impactful. 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚 - 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚: We 🔸 Discovered the power of leading together & learned how to build a culture of collective leadership within our organizations and communities 🔸 Explored what leadership is, its significance & how we can be leaders at any level of our career 🔸 Learned tangible solutions to breakthrough leadership advancement challenges across career levels to achieve our full potential 🔸 Uncovered our unique leadership style & learned how to become and develop holistic leaders for individual and collective good 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞: 🔹 This convention wouldn't be possible without the vision and execution of Anna Mok, Robina Singh, Rupa Sethu, Arielle J. Alibudbud, and the entire national team! 🔹 My deepest gratitude to all of our chapter leadership teams who bring our Ascend Leadership vision and mission to life at the local levels. 🔹 Thank you to all the speakers and facilitators who shared their stories and helped us dig into the most important conversations. 🔹 A BIG SHOUTOUT to my Ascend Austin leadership team - thank you for all the small and big things you do each day to create such a warm, inclusive community that helps us all make a bigger impact.
