First week at Overland AI, and I am very impressed with the team they've built so far. It's amazing to see vehicles maneuvering without roads and lane lines and all the aides that exist for on-road AV; I wonder if this is perhaps a better approach to the problem more generally. 2moI recall someone saying to me that “HD maps are a crutch” - I’m not an expert enough in planning/perception to make judgement, but it’s cool to see the other approaches.
