Read an interesting article about Scania's 2030 green purchasing goal today.
By 2030, Scania wants to totally transition all cast iron, steel, batteries, and aluminum purchases it makes for its operations in Europe to be environmentally friendly. Given that these commodities account for 80% of their production-related carbon footprint, this big undertaking is essential to their aim of reducing emissions from the supply chain. The company uses green power, recyclable materials, and innovative technology to eliminate emissions. For example, it secures green energy for battery manufacture and replaces coal with green hydrogen in the production of flat steel. This is how it defines "green." Scania's commitment is demonstrated by their partnerships with organizations like SSAB and H2 Green Steel. They also have plans to greenify their entire global supply chain in the future. This calculated action highlights their leadership in promoting a sustainable future for the transportation sector.
