As a software engineer, there are many moments when you think "I wish I could do this". The idea is clear but then the software stack looks daunting to learn and master and one feels it would take a lifetime to build that thing. Add in patents, sales, and marketing and it looks like jumping over a cliff. Then one returns to work and realizes that food must be provided for family and dreaming might be a foolish thought, an unachievable idea. Well here it is Devin https://lnkd.in/d_yCidhx Maybe your idea is no longer that unachievable. Maybe is time to build. Maybe it is time to help more. Maybe it is time to share more code. For those scared that coding will become obsolete remember that people pay for the service you provide them, not the beauty of your code. So be creative, help and you will have food on your table. We distance ourselves from one another through technology. Maybe technology will bring us back together because it will allow and make us to ask ourselves "How can I help?", "How would make my work make this world a better place, and for whom?". There has never been in our history a time when our technology co-creates side by side with us. What a time to be alive.

It would be ironic if full AI automation of software engineering roles occurred before the automation of truck/car driving jobs. Automating a complex skill (which typically requires years for humans to master) earlier than a skill a teenager can learn in approximately 20 hours would be very impressive.

I'm on the lookout for anyone in the industry who'd like to chat about robotics frameworks and testing strategies - especially if you'd be interested in switching to Basis when it's more mature. Are you interested? Do you know someone interested? Please send them my way. In development news - I got basic (nondeterministic) replay working. Units are notified when time loops backwards and restart, avoiding having to write code internally that detects this state. Now onto the fun part - the deterministic replayer.
