Due to the rotor design, plain #bearings in centrifugal #pumps are exposed to dynamic forces. The interplay between the plain bearings and the mass forces can result in a dynamic operating state in which the rotor in the plain bearing moves on a circular path, the orbit. Particularly in water-lubricated systems, the low dynamic viscosity can lead to periodic mixed friction contacts, resulting in undesirable vibrations and noise. The effect of the plain bearing design on the operating state of the pump can be mapped using the multi-body simulation program Ansys Motion. The plain bearings are calculated using our Tribo-X solver, which also allows rough surfaces and mixed friction to be considered. On this basis, pumps and other plain bearing systems can be designed and evaluated in terms of load-bearing capacity and vibration behavior as early as the development phase. #mbse #engineering #mechanicalengineering #development #simulation #tribology

These massive, flexible parts absorb and dissipate energy when disturbed, creating unique response patterns. The dynamic response of a rotor-bearing system can be approximated using linear differential equations derived from finite element representations. The main task in this study is to find the equivalent stress , total deformation and shear stress , shear strain,energy on the gravity dam by optimizing it for various loading condition . The 3-dimensional model is prepared using Ansys 2021 . Different types of materials are assigned and analysis is carried out using finite element analysis software named Ansys Inc .
