I am pleased to announce the successful completion of my final year project, titled "Remaining Life Assessment of 2.25Cr 1Mo Steel by Accelerated Creep Testing." This research was conducted in collaboration with Mr. Jawwad Baig and Mr. Abdullah Sajid, under the esteemed supervision of Dr Syed Waliyat and Dr Anjum Tauqir. Our project focused on a critical question: estimating the remaining useful life of 2.25Cr 1Mo steel under assumed operating conditions. This is crucial because unexpected failures during service can be costly and the cost of replacement is significantly high. To address this, we conducted accelerated creep testing, also known as stress rupture testing. Through this process, we developed a numerical method to predict the creep behavior and remaining life of the components. This approach helps in planning maintenance and replacements more effectively, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency. What do we invent? We invented a new flange or coupling, in other words a new way of joining coated tubes. Topic: pipelines of different types, oil, gas, desalinated water, green hydrogen among others. In short, as you know, to make a duct, tubes must be joined together. Well all over the world tubes are joined by welding and the heat of the welding causes enormous damage to the interior.  We in Chile invented the ideal solution. Our invention reduces the damage that welding causes to the inner lining at the joint of the tubes to zero. This is an extraordinary solution. Today, welding in joints is a global problem, with no solution so far that involves million-dollar expenses. No more with our invention. Who is the inventor? René Sidgman, a Chilean chemical engineer with Israeli roots, a nationally recognized professional and alumnus of P.U. Catholic of Chile.
