On the train home from Stockholm contemplating two great days with a lot of wisdom and inspiration at the IDG Summit 2023. A few of my notes from the many sessions: ⭐️What we are now are symptoms of an outdated worldwiew ⭐️We can use imagination to change paradigms ⭐️Longing on a large scale is what makes history ⭐️We need to build a longing in our hearts to build the future that we want ⭐️Put your energy into reimagining the future rather than trying to fix a broken system ⭐️People overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in 10 years ⭐️Many doors will be locked…. If you look close enough you just might find me 👀 This could be said to be inarguably my greatest achievement, YET. In all my years of attending AIESEC conferences, I have never seen anyone without sponsorship or partnership, but we did that in the recently concluded NEXLDS conference held at Calabar in April. The conference aimed to foster exchanges; being the core of the organization, to remind the members of the part they play and strategic directions to achieve the organization's goals. Now, my team did not have an ideal situation, seeing that the team was put together barely one month before the conference date, no partnership deal was closed, but with the help of the local chapter’s president and the unwavering support from the alumni network, and my team’s magnificent efforts, we were able to run a debt free conference, hosting a total of 160 people from all over the country. A major takeaway from this role as the project manager was my ability to manage both situations and people, in past times I only saw crisis management in sessions I delivered but I actively did that for the duration of the conference, I successfully oversaw the execution of the project on time, within scope, within budget and contributing to the overall success of the organization. I realized the strength of remaining calm amidst chaos; chaos because the problems we encountered were nothing short of that, but being solution-oriented and proactive saw to it that we didn't dwell on the problems but implemented contingency plans. I am glad that now we get to sit back and revel in the achievements and experiences, the connections and memories. #projectmanagement

Some events in your life are just remarkable and historic. Treat them as such. In December, 2023, I was invited by the global WSA (World Summit Awards) to join the 2023 Young Innovators online Jury as a Juror for the Young Innovators Awards Category. I was so excited about the invite, I quickly responded with a big YES! to the request. I felt really honoured to be recognised as an expert by a renowned UN affiliated organisation and given the opportunity to evaluate projects from young people across the globe; Pakistan, Iran, Canada, America, Russia, Ghana, Uganda, Etc🌎 Being a Juror for a global brand has significantly increased my evaluation and judging skills. It has exposed me to problems in different parts of the world and unique digital solutions offered by young people below the age of 26. Seeing how talented and forward thinking young students and early graduates are so passionate about solving problems in their local environment is so humbling and motivational. How would I have been found by WSA if I didn't prepare for, position for and pursue the opportunity when it presented itself? I have witnessed the power of dreaming and working towards your dreams. I have not entered the ultimate reality of my dreams, but everyday, significant and historic events like the one I just shared tell me that I am close. I just need to keep going!
