Rolling dynamic compaction (RDC): RDC is a ground improvement technology that involves the use of a non–cylindrical rolling module incorporating 3, 4 or 5 sides. The module rotates about its corners as it is towed and falls to the ground, compacting it dynamically. Dr. Quek's tips on MSMA (Part 11)- MSMA Workshop Preview Video. The workshop emphasizes the practical application of spreadsheet templates and other tools to solve real engineering problem in case studies. It is aimed at equiping a new engineer with the technical skill to perform the tasks as required in MSMA. The workshop covers the practical application of drainage design according to MSMA and submission requirements by the approving authorities. Participants will learn to apply the theories they learned to solve real design problems using spreadsheet templates on their own laptop PC. They will learn about the changes in the second edition (MSMA2) compared to the first edition of MSMA. The participants will learn via real case study how to optimize their design of On-Site Detention (OSD) and detention basin using spreadsheet templates to meet the requirements of Approving Authorities. At the end of the workshops, the participants will get valuable Excel spreadsheet templates for free which they can use in their work. Additionally, they will each gain 6 CPD hours per day (pending) by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) for attending the workshops. The workshop is conducted by Ir. Dr. Quek Keng Hong- a well known expert on MSMA. Dr. Quek is a consulting engineer by practice and has three decades of experience in urban drainage design and has involved himself in many major infrastructural projects around the country.
