Really interesting article by a practicing GP on why Babylon has failed to deliver on their early potential: "The fundamental flaw in their business model: they increased patient access but didn't review their patients to better understand their need or design pathways to help optimise their care." Babylon was once the the rising star of the UK's digital health scene, pioneering telehealth solutions and expanding into the lucrative U.S. market. Valued at $4.2bn in October 2021, the company has failed to meet performance expectations and de-listed from the NYSE in June 2023 following a steep slide in share value. News broke earlier this week that the take-private deal with Swiss-based MindMaze had collapsed, and Babylon shuttered their U.S. business.
