Bye-bye, batteries! In the next 3–5 years, not only is the Matter protocol expected to become a well-known standard, but the Energy Harvesting endpoint devices will also become popular. (Silicon Labs has announced its new multi-protocol SoCs built around Energy Harvesting. These SoCs will be usable with Zigbee/Green Power/Thread/Bluetooth protocols. Hopefully, by then, a few energy harvesting generator solutions will have spread beyond kinetic energy. (Such as Peltier module.
