🎖️ Long Service & Good Conduct (LS&GC) medal CLASP policy update alert 🎖️ Long (but relevant) story cut short – Last year an amazing colleague and friend of mine, applied for my LS&GC CLASP (awarded 10 years after the main medal, in recognition of 25 years of LS & GC, aka not getting caught 😅). The medals office said I wasn’t eligible because although I did my attestation (swearing service to the Queen and country), 25 years previously, I didn’t start basic training until a few days later, meaning although eligible in reality, because I had ‘signed up), I was hours short of the total required 26 years on paper. There was also an issue because I was 16 at the time of joining, and some of my service didn’t count (but absolutely should have done). We challenged the policy formally. 😢 We saw a similar case with someone’s pension while working together, that again meant the few days between packing and arriving at basic training didn’t count, and got it sorted for him. I then left the military, after slightly more than 26 years, and headed over to Dubai. Yesterday, they reached out to Georgie and told her that her challenge of the policy had got it changed, and as result, I (and I suspect others), are now eligible, based on attestation date, 25 years served (regardless of junior entry), and it’s in the post. 💌 This is great news and important for two reasons – recognition (always important), but also that policy challenging (a sport I have always participated in), can and does work! 🗞️💪🏽 If you need to check if you may now be eligible - apply to the MOD Medal Office - https://lnkd.in/dJixx3fb #notinthearmynow #TeaAndMedals #crowbag #dontstayinlane

Simple actions can make a significant impact on your life, work, and relationships. Expressing gratitude through written notes can leave a lasting impression. Remembering and using someone's name makes interactions more personal. Punctuality shows respect for others' time. Acquiring new skills can lead to personal growth. Listening well allows for better understanding and communication. Acknowledging mistakes fosters trust and humility. Kind gestures, no matter how small, spread joy. Sharing knowledge and experiences by mentoring enriches both parties. Investing time and resources into personal development can yield long-term benefits. Small courtesies like holding doors can brighten someone's day. 🌱 Sustainability is imperative to a business, so I've listed a few reason why you should prioritise minimising your environmental impact. 👍 Consumers prefer companies that demonstrate environmental and social responsibility, leading to a stronger brand image and increased customer loyalty. 🤑 Save Money! Sustainable initiatives often lead to cost reductions through improved efficiency and waste reduction. ❌ Avoid Fines! Governments are increasingly implementing environmental regulations, and adopting sustainable practices will help you stay compliant and avoid penalties. 🤝 Better & Easier Recruitment - Employees are drawn to companies with strong ethical values and a commitment to sustainability, helping you attract and retain the best talent. Prioritising sustainability isn't just about doing what's right for the planet - it's also about ensuring the long-term success and resilience of your business. #Sustainability #BusinessImpact #Responsibility #SupplyChain #IEMA 🌍👩💼🌱 ♻

we get a like! we get a like! we get a like! Thank you, Mr Rampersad, you must love workers too. Before we proceed with today's stakeholder feedback episode, we have a message from our hostage, Mr Farray. He said we shouldn't say NTA because the people he work with in Programme Development and Quality Assurance were good. It is just the people in assessment who incompetent (cannot issue a certificate 5 months after completion) and probably corrupt (what other reason for not providing the stakeholder with an explanation of the delay?). Well, the Caribbean Vocational Liberation Navy don't care, without assessors in production lines everywhere, the whole institution is a failure. The NTA admits there is an Assessor training backlog, your response is too little and too late.Last training was in middle of 2022. Vocational training is about skills, knowledge and attitude. What is the NTA's attitude to assessors in production lines? #unesco #vocationaltraining #unevoc #cvq #TTNVQ #assessor #nta
