How to make friends at a party? We have all faced this question everytime we have to attend a party full of strangers. You can't expect your host to stick by your side through the evening and eventually, you will have to survive the evening on your own. The biggest struggle in making new friends at a party is approaching someone to strike up a conversation. Everyone is there to have a good time so clearly people will not be interested in talking about the weather. Here are three conversation starters to help you strike a rapport: Pay a genuine compliment- flattery will always earn you a smile and help you break the ice. Establish a common ground- this will give you a subject or two to talk about. Talk about wine- simply because this is an unending and interesting topic that is highly enjoyable. Here's a pro tip: Always look approachable by wearing a smile on your lips and confidence in your eyes. And when you do make a friend, make sure that you listen to them intently so that they know that you are having a good time in their company. How do you make friends at a party full of strangers? Tell us in the comments section down below. Cheers! #Sonalholland #masterofwine #winetime #partyideas #etiquettetips #wineexpert

Embarking on the path to becoming a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and a Certified Professional Biller (CPB) while simultaneously being open to opportunities that will open doors in my new career.
CHECK OUT THE LATEST FROM THE WHINE BAR... Sometimes life gives us lemons and we are supposed to make lemonade. But sometimes we just need to mix that lemonade with some vodka. 🐾 FELINE FINE FRIDAY: IF ONLY ANIMALS COULD TALK 🐾 A Manta Ray would tell you to direct your attention to where you want to go. I'm an author. That much is probably obvious by now. However, it took me a long time, and a challenging wavy journey to get there. But now I have arrived, and I love what I do. . . I create thoughts and words that may help to change someone's perspective when they most need it, and may even make the world a better place in the long run. Who could ask for more? I can. That's who. You see, I am not perfect. I am human. I sometimes don't have the patience that I need to. I frequently think that I should be doing more. I even on occasion think that others know more than me about me. And I sometimes get some crazy idea and try to see if it should stick. This week was one of those times when something crept in, was bright and shiny, and distracted me from what I want to do, what I need to do. How do you warm up your brain, so that you can come up with some imaginative ideas? Here's an exercise idea from Creative Business Strategist Jodie Newman of The Business Allotment!
Answer: Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Question: how do you warm your brain up on a Monday morning so you approach your day in a creative mind set? Get juicing those creative brain cells with this creative warm up. 💡 Draw 5 lemons. And I’ll not be having any of that ‘I can’t draw’ nonsense, it’s a wonky oval with two bibbly bits. (Best not google that last phrase, just in case). 💡 Now squeeze out an idea for each lemon – what can you turn it into? Draw over the top of your lemon and let your imagination go wild. 💡 This is also a great warm up to kick off a meeting, getting everyone to draw one lemon. And if you want to start an argument, award points for the best, and anyone who has drawn the same as anyone else gets to make the tea and buy the biscuits. Easy peasy lemon squeezy, right? Come on, show me your lemons in the comments (that came out slightly more weird than intended).

Crouched in the blackberry bramble – v4 Crouched in the blackberry bramble, surrounded by thorns, prickers, an intricate dance to get there, living barbed wire, razor wire, tugging on my coat, my jeans but not a stumbling block, not really a man on a mission, a purpose, lowering myself to the dark small fruit gathering in, berry by sweet-tart-wet berry scratches growing, a burgundy stain, on eager fingertips, stretching, reaching. A family of five, with pails and bowls, short on patience, gatherers as of old, of a simpler, primal age, these fruits, foraging in woods, at the edge of fields, finding food in the wild, untamed, uncultivated, natural state, in nature crouched in the blackberry bramble, collecting tiny gems, tasty pearls ready to melt on the tongue, that moment, now swatting at mosquitoes that stalked us, seeking to drive us from the field, their forest. Watching for safety, the whereabouts, of younger, fitful pickers, eager for fruit, not the quest, the search, under leaves, under branches, the clusters hidden, obscured, shrouded from the view, the sight of less tenacious, casual picker, distracted, no ready for the valiant, eager for this fruit, this nectar, ambrosia, the foods of the gods, the ancients before us; Gather them in, them all in, for the pie, the reward we seek, at the end of the work, full true fruits of our labors, their taste. https://lnkd.in/ejE_aEep #poetry #August #blackberries #creator #Faith #Family #fruit #God #grow #hope #Nature
