We all know that International Women's Day is a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible achievements of women around the world. But it's also more than that. My missus sent me this post from Grazia https://lnkd.in/efJNQW72 highlighting how far we have to go to level the playing field for women, especially women of color. If you have a moment, stop reading this post and check out the statistics in the Grazia post.
When I chat with people about IWD, I find two camps - people who talk about it being about raising awareness of the gender gap and those who view it more as a celebration of women. Both are important, but if you find yourself in that second group, do the celebration bit and ask yourself what more you can do to foster inclusion. It could be big things or lots of everyday little things: this post from Anne Golden gives some great examples of where your allyship skills can help, and I know there are things I could do better.

This International Women's Day, let's celebrate women's achievements while acknowledging the role of men in fostering an inclusive workplace for everyone. By doing so, we not only empower women but uplift all individuals who have been marginalized or overlooked.
