As National Minority Health Month has come to a close, it's crucial to continue to recognize that not everyone is represented in the standard approach to health initiatives. Historically, most studies were conducted on white males, leaving minority groups underrepresented. As we strive for inclusive wellness programs, we must consider the diverse health needs and risks faced by BIPOC and other genders. Tailoring programs to accommodate various cultural backgrounds and lifestyles is essential for promoting equitable health outcomes. This Sunday marks #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities, an important moment to uplift and advocate for the rights and well-being of people living with disabilities. By and large, individuals with disabilities experience more barriers to accessing healthcare than the general population – a challenge exacerbated by the sweeping gaps in data for disability inclusion.
