Yesterday I graduated with a Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), with an emphasis in energy transitions and political economy. For me and many others, SAIS is the best place in the world to study these issues in the context of the evolving US-China relationship. My time at SAIS exceeded every high expectation I had; it is a special environment to think critically about the world and our place in it. Participating in the SAIS-US State Department China practicum was one of many memorable experiences providing unique, innovative, and practical learning opportunities for graduate students. I’ve wanted to attend SAIS for more than a decade, since the beginning of my career working in politics. I am thankful to have accomplished this goal with support from mentors, my wife (Marisa (Rodriguez-McGill)Tuell), and classmates, friends (Kyle Cooke), mentors (Monica Lopez, PhD), and alums in the SAIS community. I am especially grateful to Deloitte for allowing me to take a sabbatical last fall to finish my degree and for the value the firm places on lifelong learning and having a global mindset. I look forward to continuing as a Deloitte recruiting champion at SAIS and contributing to many other talent initiatives.
Congratulations Austin Tuell and well deserved! Look forward to what you achieve next!
Best of luck!
