💪 Three-phase induction motors have made great improvement in terms of energy efficiency in recent years. Models reaching the Super Efficiency level (IE4) are now widely available on the market for power levels between 0.5 and 500 kW. 👉 Thanks to their efficiency improvements and their well-known reliability, three-phase induction motors remain the preferred motor technology for fixed speed applications. They can start directly online – with or without a soft starter – resulting a simple motor set-up. 👉 Other technologies capable of starting direct on-line also appeared on the market recently, such as Line-Start Permanent Magnet Motors (LSPM) and Direct On-Line Synchronous Reluctance motors (DOL SynRM), but they still show some operational drawbacks, limiting their widespread use. #electricmotors #inductionmotors Picture by Mika Baumeister on Unsplash
