Crosstown H2R, a Swiss climate tech startup, has secured over €2 million in subsidies and grants from the Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE and other investors, emerging from stealth mode. Partnerships with industry giants Sulzer and Fortum have been announced to develop its proprietary technology, Crosstown Burner (H2R), enabling gas power plants to transition to zero-carbon energy production. A Swedish 🇸🇪 startup, Modvion, has built the world's tallest wooden wind turbine, which can generate 2 MW of energy. The tower of the turbine is made of 140 layers of spruce veneer, which are lighter and easier to transport than steel. The tower is modular and can be assembled on site, reducing the carbon footprint of the construction. The producer claims that wooden towers can reach up to 200 meters in height, allowing for higher and more efficient turbines. The wood is also renewable and recyclable ♻️. The project has attracted the interest of global leaders in wind energy.
