For those who are responsible for planning the operations and strategic direction of their nonprofit’s board, I offer a few suggestions based on one of the boards that I serve on, Landscape Architecture Foundation.
☑️ Make at least 1 seat available to emerging leaders. Their perspective is invaluable.
☑️ Meetings in-person should be designed around spending time for breaking bread together and building relationships during which all other work is set aside for maximum and genuine attention towards each other as humans and the greater big picture mission of the organization.
☑️ Hosting online committee meetings has proven effective, because relationships are also built from f2f video interactions, as groups commit time to do actual work together with the best brains.
☑️ Spend less time on fancy presentations and presenting to each other, and more time providing valuable industry updates through conversational report outs and with data!
☑️ Focus on information mobility! Communication is a board’s key responsibility. Figure out how to mobilize the information that shows you’re paying attention to your audience’s needs and pain points.
If you serve on a board or in an organization that has a board, feel free to offer additional tips from your experience 👇

I am pleased to share a new blog post on the recent revelation by Peruzzi, shedding light on why he chose not to intervene in the beef between Davido and Burna Boy. Peruzzi highlights the complexities of their relationship and his seniority as factors that influenced his decision. Despite the disagreement, he remains optimistic about their reconciliation without external intervention. To read the full insights, click the link: https://ift.tt/mUPWwaV.
This vignette of moments captured during the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) Affiliate rooftop event hosted by Covington & Burling LLP during the 2023 The Nobel Prize Summit in Washington D.C. is a strong reminder of how many dedicated scientific leaders and champions of the global information environment have already signed on to support our work. We couldn't be more grateful for all you are doing to drive our mission, grow our ranks and spread the word. www.IPIE.info
An interesting critique of ML from Walid Saba (outlined in his story [below] and detailed in the thread linked to *his* story), which effectively re-asserts the importance of Kant's "synthetic a priori" judgments as providing the necessary foundations for human knowledge. I.e., The most general laws of nature, like the truths of mathematics, **cannot be justified by experience**, yet must apply to it universally ...
I.e., Kant argued (from the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy): "that even so elementary an example in arithmetic as 7+5=12 is synthetic since the concept of 12 is not contained in the concepts of 7, 5, or +. Thus, appreciating the truth of this proposition would seem to require some kind of active “synthesis” by the mind, uniting the different constituent thoughts (1787 [1998], B15). And so we arrive at the category of the 'synthetic a priori'."

My job is easy.
My job is easy because our teammates don’t compromise on doing things the right way.
When our CEO Jerod invited us into his home to talk about how he founded Quality Collision Group we didn’t have a script. Honestly, we showed up with no real plan (maybe something not to boast about 🤠). Jerod spoke, and we filmed for about half an hour. No thirty-person crew, no staging, and certainly no teleprompter.
And the same goes for all of our content. We show up to our locations and document what is happening. It’s not complicated when you know what you’re capturing is important.
And it’s easy when you know with 100% certainty that if you look to the left or right, that your teammates are doing the right thing.
So, if you’re in the business of marketing for your company and it’s difficult to do that, ask yourself why? And then set out to change it.
It should be easy. No compromise.
