UNSAT. Unsatisfactory - synonyms include – inadequate, unacceptable, substandard. Ouch. That one hurt, but it was 30+ years ago. This was not the first and certainly wasn’t the last unsat during #USAF pilot #training. This was a written test for T-37 boldface. Boldface are the immediate actions a pilot must take to ensure safety of the crew and plane. Largely considered non-negotiable, must be accurate, precisely completed and must be memorized. Thus important. #Failure will happen. It is widely said “failure is not an option.” That may be true, but it certainly is a potential outcome in every endeavor. The choice we have when fail at something is rather #simple. We can #learn from it or not. We can learn as an individual, #team, #company or #organization. Victory Strategies We can take time to take inventory of what went well, what didn’t and where to #improve. It is up to you and your team. You have the voice and vote in this I took time to re-learn the boldface and passed the next day and eventually graduated. Enjoy this week"s #wednesdaywisdom Failure is success in progress – Albert Einstein If you never known failure, you will never know success - Sugar Ray Leonard Failures are a part of life. If you don’t fail, you don’t learn. If you don’t learn, you’ll never change - Unknown.

To say that the past few years have been nothing but blessings is an understatement. Timing and persistence have been a huge factor on the success of A-PRT. The inception of A-PRT lives at Al Udeid AB, where in 2021 there was a demand for a faster, and more organized method to filter deployed members traveling from the Air Base to their home station. I want to thank Mr. Sergio Barrios for introducing me to the capabilities SharePoint can provide. MSgt Ret. Brad Maney for trusting that we could leverage SharePoint as a form of creating a low code no code solution to our problem. SMSgt Ret. Dustin Wills for pushing the idea forward. CMSgt Lawrence Ballinger, BA, PMP for entrusting and introducing me to IMSC team, CMSgt Daniel Johnsin for his support in my transition to the IMSC Pax team, and Tesseract. Mr. Darryl Hamilton, Mrs. Gina Hoover, Mr. Nils Stinson and SMSgt Jewell Allen for the continuous journey I have made yall a part of to provide a better PCS experience not just to our customers but to the TMO offices. Finally, I want to thank Tesseract AF for your continues support, not just with A-PRT but entrusting me as your first fellow, and allowing me to be a part of the journey of defining what that mean for the future fellows that come after me. To those that seek a way to solve problems, that enjoy re-organizing a warehouse for max efficiency, I say keep on going. Don’t allow one person to tell you no, or give you a set back on what you feel in your heart is the solution to a problem. Challenge the status quo… don’t arrive with complaint to a problem if you have not already thought of a solution. Stay persistent and have passion for making an effective change for a better work environment.
TSgt Mariana Hernandez-Chavez was a Traffic Management Office (TMO) Airmen at Lackland AFB when she created the Automated Passenger Reservation Tool (A-PRT), a low code software app designed to increase access and transparency for members requiring a Permanent Change of Station. This technology solution allows Airmen to make and alter their travel reservations remotely through a desktop application rather than make an in-person visit to TMO. The A-PRT has been used for over 21,000 reservations and across 39 installations. Recognized for her innovative efforts as a former Aether Sprint finalist, she is now part of AFIMSC team and serves as a Tesseract "Field Agent”. She is applying lessons learned and developing innovators across the Air Force. #USAF #Airmen #Innovation

Our Refinery Innovation Accelerator's 12th cohort is in full swing and the teams are making great progress! Team UALS E-Gun is currently at the Logistics Officers Association Symposium making connections and sparking interest in their Electric Powered Universal Ammunition Loading System accessory. MSgt Benjamin Husser (Geaux Guard) MSgt Gilberto Garza, Mr. Alexander Barnett, and Capt Joseph Fisher Eglin Air Force Base have been busy all week engaging with the United States Department of the Air Force community of end-users to help their fellow Airmen with a tool that can optimize the process for loading ammo into fighters, save costs, and improve their QOL. "If I saw a WPNS or AMMO patch I talked to them," said MSgt Husser in his report back to his Refinery support team. "They all agreed this was much needed and would make the job a lot easier." The Refinery's curriculum provided the team with validated tools and methodologies to help them prepare their efforts for potential institutional adoption. This includes effective communication skills and pitch-coaching training, which proved valuable when DAF Senior Leadership stopped by to learn more about these Airmen's innovative technology. MSgt Husser says this alone shows why it's important to practice the pitches at the Refinery as much as they did. "You never know, you think you're just giving the same pitch again to just another random person that wandered into the booth, and the person you're pitching to is actually a homerun that you desperately needed to push your project to that next level. So, it shows why we give 100% no matter who we are talking to about a project."
