The poor-selling A330-800 added one more operator to its disappointingly short list earlier this year. Unfortunately, the customer remains a mystery. Earlier this year, Airbus quietly added an order for a single A330-800. This moved the variant's total orders from 11 up to 12. This type of activity might not be considered news to most, but any developments concerning this poor-selling variant have an added level of intrigue. How Airbus Secretly Upgrades New Aircraft All The Time Passengers boarding an A350 built last month may not notice a terribly huge difference compared to one that was built four years ago. The model number is the same; the inside and outside would look nearly identical. However, an airline will know that its newer aircraft operates better on several levels such as range and takeoff weight. Airbus To Raise A350 Production Further, Confirms 2023 Delivery Targets Backed by several recent major orders for the type, Airbus has decided to increase the production rate of the A350 family further. The manufacturer confirmed Nov. 8 that monthly output of its most important widebody will increase to 10 aircraft per month in 2026. Airbus also specified the target to bring the A220 up to 14 aircraft per month—a rate now also to be achieved within the next three years. Finally! From today onwards I am no longer an A220 virgin. The mess the aquisition created for Boeing and Embraer proved its strategic value far beyond the 1€ Airbus paid for it. And with soon 1000 orders seems to be on track to resegment the lower end of single aisle market? -500 version as B737-7/8 Max challenger while Airbus moves A320 orders towards A321 next?
