Dapagliflozin Shines in Acute Heart Failure Study! In a recent study, 240 patients with hypervolemic AHF were randomly assigned to dapagliflozin 10 mg OD or standard care. 1. Dapagliflozin was associated with loop diuretic doses reduction and fewer intravenous diuretic up-titrations to achieve equivalent weight loss as usual care 2. Early dapagliflozin initiation did not increase diabetic, renal, or CV safety events 3. This study evaluates the impact of comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation (CR) on patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and varying exercise capacities. The 10-year study involving over 260,000 adults in Australia and New Zealand found a 2.6-year average loss in life expectancy and high rates of re-hospitalization for heart-related issues.
