Inspired by Kindness: Small Acts, Big Impact Last week, a post about a successful entrepreneur who randomly gives back truly resonated with me and inspired me to write this post. He wrote about his weekly acts of kindness, like paying for groceries for the older woman behind him in the queue to helping the homeless. In my family, we've always been instilled with the importance of charity. Influenced by my late grandfather, we donate to support those in need, particularly in Pakistan. Recently, I learned about Zakat, the Islamic principle of giving 2.5% of your earnings to charitable causes (excluding family and friends). I loved this idea and since last December after my grandads passing my family and I have made the conscious decision to put away at least 2.5% along with giving to charity when we receive good, personal news. 2.5% might seem small, it can be life-changing for someone else. It's a powerful reminder that kindness doesn't have to be grand gestures. A simple hello or a conversation with someone experiencing homelessness can brighten their day. 🌟HAPPY FRIDAY NEWS🌟 In January HIT Leadership was set the task of supporting Falcon Support Services by lifting 365 tonnes in 36.5 days. I love a challenge, and what Falcon Support Services does to help homeless people within Leicestershire, so embarked on the journey on 1st Feb 2024. Today, I am proud to say that I have smashed the original target of 365 tonnes and have lifted 385 tonne in 30 days 😁 Let's not forget why HIT Leadership is supporting this charity. - Over 1400 people, in Leicestershire, are currently homeless. - With cuts to Falcon Support Services homeless people are fearing for their lives. - No one wants to be homeless and a vast majority of the time it's out of their control. - Access to much needed support services will be lost - In 2022 rough sleeping increased by %109 - 27'444 meals were cooked for homeless people, by Falcon Support Services in 2023 You can still support this cause by donating using the following link https://lnkd.in/e2ksnzsY Let's support our communities and show people less fortunate than ourselves that we care. I love actively contributing to charitable causes. Here I’m lending a hand in distributing food to the homeless and needy. Charity work is important across most faiths and it’s even more beautiful when we come together to bring about good. As a Muslim, I’m honoured with the duty of giving Zakat: a yearly charitable donation of 2.5% of one’s wealth, which is the 4th pillar of Islam. We believe it not only helps those less fortunate, but purifies wealth and guards against calamity.
