Despite treatment advancements with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), there remains an unmet need for patients with #ChronicMyeloidLeukemia who develop resistance to or hard-to-treat mutations following these therapies. We are committed to these patients, always aiming to pursue potential new treatment options. 

While the rise in survival rates is an incredible accomplishment we will continue to build upon as science advances, it has also brought about a paradigm shift in #cancer care.      I believe we have the opportunity to further improve patient care and experience if we evolve the way we think when making treatment decisions.     This requires a collaborative effort between those living with cancer, their healthcare providers, and the healthcare industry to ensure that patients' unique needs and preferences are integrated more comprehensively.     Read my latest article where I discuss how the future of cancer is rooted in embracing an individual's overall well-being, here: https://lnkd.in/ezeRkuTi  

#Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, with its impact expected to grow significantly in the next 25 years, according to the American Cancer Society. Every minute counts for patients and their loved ones — this fact has been a driving force in my career.  It's time to challenge the status quo to bring forth solutions for patients faster than we have before. One way to do so? By reevaluating the "gold standard" in oncology clinical trials.  In this article, I outline how surrogate endpoints can fast-track select cancer medicines for patients with very limited options. This approval showcases the strong sense of commitment we have to help address the unmet need for people living with rare #cancers and limited treatment options. I look forward to seeing the potential impact on patients. 

Patients face a difficult path when diagnosed with #cancer, and lack of treatment options can lead to further emotional toll. A truly exceptional milestone to witness. I’d like to extend my thanks to all who supported this approval, making progress for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer possible.

Through next-generation sequencing, health care providers can get a closer look at the mutations driving the cancer and consider treatment options designed to target them. This is imperative when talking about NSCLC mutations like EGFR Exon20 insertions - a very distinct mutation that can be difficult to treat.   While we know the impact of NGS testing, it is not yet the standard of care due to a variety of barriers preventing adoption - including awareness, logistical concerns and reimbursement.
