Associate Director Statistical Programming at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson

After 24 years at Roche and Johnson & Johnson, I have decided to embark on the next chapter of my life – "retirement"! Looking back, I am filled with pride for the numerous achievements accomplished, both as a team member and a leader. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the leaders who placed their trust in me and the colleagues who made it possible for our teams to make a lasting impact. What I cherish most are the personal connections I have forged over the years. The diverse array of individuals I've had the privilege to meet worldwide has broadened my perspective and contributed to my personal growth. For this, I am truly grateful. Most notably: I met my beautiful wife Tracy at work! As many of you know, I have a wide range of interests outside of work. My corporate career, while rewarding, often left little time or energy for pursuits like traveling, tending to my plants, and exploring my culinary passions. I am excited to now dedicate more time to these activities. To all my colleagues and friends, I wish you continued success in your careers. More importantly, I hope you find health and happiness in all your endeavors. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Here's to new adventures!

Dear Axel, Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement! It has been an absolute honor to work under your leadership at JNJ. Your dedication and passion for excellence have not only driven the company forward but have also been a source of inspiration for all of us who had the privilege to call you our boss. Your ability to foster a collaborative and innovative environment has left a lasting impression on me, and I am grateful for the skills and knowledge I have gained during our time together. Your emphasis on the importance of personal connections resonates deeply, and I can attest to the positive impact you've made on so many lives, mine included. As you transition into this new chapter, I have no doubt that you will approach retirement with the same enthusiasm and vigor that you brought to the workplace. May your days be filled with the joy of discovery, whether through travel, your plants, or culinary explorations. Thank you for your leadership, support, and the memories.
