Let's talk about... Polished concrete in food environments? I come across various resin flooring installations where I wonder if there are elements I would do differently. Enclosed is a photo at the front counter of a food outlet. The back processing area is tiled and the front of business is polished concrete. The polished concrete extends through the dining area and exits to the carpark. How do you feel about polished concrete for this use (or perhaps on this particular slab)? We make a huge effort to get to know our clients and their wider team, so we headed to The Ginger Pig’s site to check out the client’s requirements and note down any challenges. So, what exactly did they need us for? They’d been outsourcing production and finished products such as pies, pastries and sausage rolls. Inevitably, as business grew and levels increased, more pressure fell on third-party suppliers to create a consistent final product. Here is the brief – The Ginger Pig team wanted us to repurpose the third unit they were working in into a preparation and production kitchen where they could bring all finish products in-house to rigorously check quality and increase overall profit.
