Keep getting to know the fantastic Axis team! Maria Lucerno, Senior Search Operations Manager! Which of our core values resonates with you most and why? How do you see us living it at Axis? It’s hard to choose one so my top three are: Advancing Equity and Justice, Fostering Belonging, and Cultivating Clarity. These three resonate with me the most because they’re also a part of my personal values that I live by every day. The team at Axis emulates these values when we interact with our candidates and clients, and when we work together as a team. What is your current favorite restorative practice? I meditate daily to ground myself (even if it’s 5 minutes a day) and I hike and explore new trails with my husband at least twice every month (especially in the summer months!). I also started gardening this year in our community garden and have been enjoying the journey of growing our own vegetables and flowers. Where is your happy place? Anywhere and everywhere that includes the ocean and the mountains. I’m grateful to live in the Bay Area where we’re close to so many hiking trails, national/state parks, and beaches. Having spent my first 7 years in the Philippines and being outside most of the time, I love enjoying the outdoors as an adult because it grounds and relaxes me. What's a fun nugget about you people wouldn't guess? I was born in the Philippines and I can speak 3 languages - Ilocano, Tagalog, and English. What is your favorite comfort food? Any variation of chicken and rice (with a side of veggies - my favorites are blanched broccoli, cucumber salad, and kimchi).
