Dear Aviators (and non aviators this time) , you are privileged. The fact that you have access to this platform right now, the fact that you are reading my words right now proves that you AND I are privileged. We are privileged. It baffles me to see that many people , especially on this platform, either forget or completely disregard the whole concept of privilege. You accepting that fact that, you and I are privileged, doesn’t take away or alter the amount of hard work most of us had to undergo in order to get to where we are now. It does not take away the amount of pain we endured along the way, nor the losses and sacrifices we had to make in our own individual journeys. We might be less privileged than some, more privileged than others but again, we are privileged. What makes you think that there isn’t other people out there who don’t have the same drive, passion, skills and demeanour to achieve what you have achieved (and probably more) if only they had access to better educational systems, if they came from more politically stable countries , if they had stronger passports perhaps etc etc… I’m a scholarship student since my primary education, I was able to excel academically enough to maintain my scholarship status then later get awarded an aviation scholarship that I would have never afforded to study. I also finished engineering school with excellence , and here I am today saying that despite that, I am well aware of my privilege. Do you remember how you felt when you achieved your dreams? Now take that feeling and multiply it by 100. This is how you would also feel if you helped others reach their dreams. I guess what I’m trying to say is, use your privilege for a good cause. Be realistic before you start throwing off irrational advises to those who need more than just a pep talk. Sometimes I hear comments being said to other people that give off the same vibes as “Just get a job”. When In reality, to get a job , you need multiple other things to be considered and fulfilled prior to that. And sometimes only you and I ( other privileged people too) can lend a helping hand. #aviation #motivation #privilege

How to become a #pilot in India with Zero expenses ? Yes, you read that right. And yes it is possible ! Keep reading to find out how. It is absolutely possible to become a pilot in India without spending a lot of money. Forget about the expenses and loans that run into lakhs. Most people don't know that the government has various departments where candidates are recruited with just a basic degree and trained as pilots. The list includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Indian Air Force 2. Indian Navy 3. Indian Army 4. INDIAN COAST GUARD ,etc,. You just have to clear the recruitment rounds, which can include separate examinations like #AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) for the Indian Air Force, followed by #SSB (Services Selection Board) examinations, which include group discussions, medical examinations, psychological evaluations, physical tests, and personal interviews. Just be careful with the age criteria. I learned about AFCAT during my days as an Air Force #NCC cadet. Due to a lack of guidance and insufficient self-study, I missed some attempts. Before I knew it, I no longer fit within the age criteria. I became aware of other opportunities when I was already above the age limit. That's why I'm posting this now. I don't want you to miss an opportunity due to a lack of awareness. Do your research on the options mentioned above (and many more), keep track of age restrictions, and work accordingly. More than 5,600 veterans and aviation stakeholders gathered at RTAG's sixth annual convention October 7–8 in Fort Worth, Tex. RTAG - The Veteran to Aviation Charity—focuses on delivering grants, scholarships, and employment opportunities to veterans across the country. As our industry evolves, expanding the workforce through veteran hiring provides opportunities for skilled aviation professionals to transition to a civilian career. At the conference, Capt. Lance McQueary, chair of ALPA’s Veterans Affairs Committee, was joined by F/O Taylor Hitson (Endeavor) and Capt. Sebastian Velasquez (Spirit Airlines Pilots) for ALPA’s “A Day in the Life” presentation to provide insight into the daily life of a civilian pilot, including how schedules differ based on the type of operation, seniority, and pilot preference. Attendees were encouraged to think about how their individual experiences may impact their careers and make them more professionally available to hiring by airline carriers. Velasquez explained that career options are plentiful and that “your journey is your journey, there is not one right path. It has to fit you and your family, whether that means pursuing a regional, major, or cargo job.” Capt. Kandy Bernskoetter (FedEx Pilots) moderated a panel focused on the personal side of an aviation family.
