Bringing Science-Based Help to Venezuelan Children We’re excited to announce our collaboration with esteemed neuroscientists and physicians from the University of Miami, Dr. Juan Pablo de Rivero Vaccari, PhD, MSBA., Dr. Maura Alvarez Baumgartner, Dr. Jennifer C. Muñoz Pareja, MD and dedicated medical professionals and medical students from Fundación CUMIS UCV including medical student Jose Hernandez and others. Thank you to these professionals for working alongside us to support this important cause! ⭐️Our Goal: Provide medical and educational assistance to 92 children in a low-income community near Caracas (Caruao), while creating economic opportunities for their parents. We'll then assess the impact on their neurodevelopment through comprehensive evaluations. ⭐️The Study: • Examine exposure to adverse life experiences and its effect on neurodevelopment in Caruao. • Develop a science-based, locally led intervention program for sustainable community development. ⭐️Why it Matters: Pediatric brain development is crucial for everything from cognitive function and memory, to emotional regulation. Our research focuses on: • Understanding how early life adversities impact brain development. • Designing targeted interventions to optimize outcomes. ⭐️Our Approach: • Comprehensive Assessments: We'll use the NIH Toolbox and other methods to assess cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. • Advanced Technique: Biomarker analysis will help identify vulnerabilities and track neurological health. •Tailored Interventions: Based on our findings, we'll develop evidence-based interventions to address specific needs. ⭐️Building a Brighter Future: By pinpointing the effects of early adversities and crafting effective interventions, we aim to: • Improve neurodevelopmental outcomes in children. • Pioneer a new model of pediatric care that fosters neurological well-being for all children. ⭐️Join Us in Making a Difference: We invite you to learn more about our mission and how you can support this critical research.
