Enjoyed catching up and playing pickleball with Life Time Inc. founder and CEO Bahram Akradi recently. Life Time Fitness was one of the first deals I ever worked on years ago and had a big influence on my interest in consumer investing. It's been super cool to follow how this company has become the arbiter of healthy living for all ages across the country through their fitness spaces, cafes, spas, children's programming, athletic events...and now pickleball! Their focus on the member experience is a great example of how any brand should serve their customers. I'm excited to see all the great things to come. Minneapolis in the fall is a bit brisk but worth it to spend time with this company! #healthyliving #brands #fitness #wellness

I had the pleasure of speaking to the inaugural Whole Foods Market accelerator program (LEAP) cohort alongside Genevieve G. Gilbreath from Springdale Ventures. I enjoyed sharing my thoughts from the fund investor perspective on creating successful win-win partnerships with emerging brands. Thanks to Scott Collier, Caroline Freedman and Kelly Spillane for including me! LEAP, launched earlier this year, is another example of how WF supports small, local and emerging brands through mentorship, education and placement on shelves. Update: After six fun and rewarding years today is my last day at CAVU Venture Partners (moving to advisor for the time being). First and foremost I want to thank Brett Thomas and Rohan Oza. I joined right after they launched the firm and was immediately drawn to their vision of democratizing healthy living and finding creative ways to invest in and support emerging brands. Like any successful firm, CAVU has evolved...had great wins...learned from our mistakes...but they have never veered from that vision which I truly admire. I'm also thankful to them for being supportive of my personal journey as a lot of life events happened over the course of six years. For anyone working with CAVU now or in the future, the team has an incredible set of resources and talent to support growth, they are great thinkers and importantly you will have a blast working with them.
